For Veterinarians

Partnering with Local Practices to Bridge the Gap in Care

At Paws on the Plains Animal Urgent Care, we value our relationships with local veterinarians and are here to support you and your patients when urgent needs arise. Our role is to fill the space between general practice and the 24-hour emergency hospital — giving your clients somewhere to turn when something comes up today and your schedule is full.

Supportive, Not Competitive

We exist to support your practice, not to compete with it. We don't offer wellness care, vaccinations, or routine services, and we actively encourage every client to return to their primary veterinarian for ongoing care. Each case is a shared responsibility between urgent care and general practice, and we treat it that way.

Collaborative Communication

You'll hear from us. After your client's visit, we'll send a summary of the presenting complaint, any diagnostics performed, and the treatment provided, so you have what you need to pick the case back up. If you have specific preferences for a patient, tell us and we'll follow them wherever we can.

What We Can See

We handle time-sensitive concerns that don't require a full emergency facility — vomiting and diarrhea, skin and ear problems, minor wounds and lacerations, limping, eye concerns, urinary changes, and general lethargy or fever, supported by in-house diagnostics. See our full list of conditions we treat.

For life-threatening cases, or anything outside our hours, please direct your client to a 24-hour emergency hospital. See emergency options in the area.
